A JetBlue gate agent in Boston is facing a $250,000 fine and a 20-year bid in prison after pleading guilty to defrauding the airline of $785,000. The agent would tell friends and family to purchase the lowest priced tickets they could find, and then she would use an “involuntary exchange” function on JetBlue’s ticketing systems to switch the tickets to international locales. In all, 505 flights were upgraded for over 100 people in 15 months.
