American reports $2.2 billion loss first three months 2020

American Airlines reported a $2.2 billion net loss for the first three months of 2020, with the company burning $70 million a day in the second quarter. System-wide load factor was 72.7 percent.

While the COVID-19 crisis and related fallout are certainly not the fault of any airline, I am reminded of AA CEO Doug Parker's odd 2017 statement that he didn't think American would lose money ever again.
