A big thank you to Airbus and AA for not telling ANYONE the A350 in carbon-fiber livery would be stopping here en-route to the McKinley climate lab in Florida. I got to Founder's 30 minutes after it landed, completely oblivious. Later that evening I found out it was already in American's Hangar 5, a.k.a. the black hole of photography. After a treacherous and possibly illegal tromp through an empty field facing the hangar, which brought me face to face with not just the A350, many meters away, but also a skunk, just one meter away, I realized there still was no good angle to shoot the 'bus. This is what I have to show for my efforts:
Between jobs on Monday I headed out to the ramp to stake out the departure, which of course was also not announced, nor was the plane visible on Flightaware. It left half an hour after I had to leave, of course. So now I'm left bitter and A350less. And yes I would like some cheese to go with my whine, at least then I would have some damn cheese.
Anyone fare better? If so we're not friends any more. :)
