DFW June 2018 Board Approved Spending

The June 5, 2018 DFW Airport Board Meeting approved several new purchases.... here are a few of note:

$145,300 for a Command Staging Vehicle, used “to perform staging procedures for first responders
during critical incidents and will further improve local and regional terrorism prevention, preparedness
and response capabilities.”

$221,819.20 for 80 seats at skylink stations, 40 trash cans at skylink stations.

$460,000 for five walkthrough scanners, apparently for random screening of badge holders.

$1,587,416 for six robots used “a primary tool for suspicious device operations.”

$994,333 for six high mast LED lighting poles.

$1 million for “aesthetic design for DFW terminal traveler waiting and staging spaces.”

$1,870,023.76 for “replacement of fabric canopies, rust removal and resurfacing of canopy structures, replacing hardware, and replacing light fixtures as required.” across the airport.

$1,175,000 for new LED lights in the Rental Car Center (RCC).

1,951,964.40 “for the upgrade of the Rental Car Center Security systems, Public Address/Voice Evacuation (PA/VE) system and Fire Alarm systems. Work includes, but is not limited to, expansion to the Automated Access Control System (ACCS), new Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), fire alarm strobe installation and upgrades to the existing PA/VE system.”

$25,515,000 for 500,000 square feet of dynamic "smart" glass technology including control systems, engineering and monitoring support services. The Airport will utilize this Contract for all glazing projects which dynamic glass will improve customer experience, energy conservation, and employee engagement. This technology continuously optimizes tint levels of glass windows to allow more daylight, reduces glare, reduce energy use and lower peak cooling demand, while providing optimum comfort and connectivity to the outdoors.

$564,071 for 7 Chevrolet pickup trucks and one Ford Transit van for DPS.

$149,760 for 156 40” monitors for the Terminal C Electronic Visual Information Display System (EVIDS).
