Korean to keep DFW at 4x weekly

Postby Greg on Sun May 04, 2008 7:24 am

Beginning with the summer schedule on April 29, Korean Air increased Seoul ICN to DFW from 3x weekly to 4x weekly. This added frequency was just for the summer season. It now looks like, according to Amadeus, that this fourth frequency will now continue through the winter season, and quite possibly permanently. The winter schedule begins October 27.

Excellent news. One step closer to daily service or 773/744 (wishful thinking) upgrade. I wonder which "set" of 772s they plan to send.

I used to work for Korean Air. I seriously doubt they could ever fill up a B-747 out of DFW. It sure would be nice to see it happening, but I'd consider it a huge accomplishment if they got a daily flight out of here to ICN. That is one, long-haul flight. When I flew over there I think it was almost 14 and a half hours. Thank goodness for Xanax. I slept for 11 1/2 hours.

They did run the 747 into DFW for about six weeks back in the summer of 2005. I don't know the loads on it, but it was nice to see passenger 747s at DFW, even if just for a brief time!

Yeah, you are right. I just think it was because their summer traffic is so big, with all the local Korean community going back to visit family members due to school being out over here in the United States.

I'm sure that has a lot to do with the 4th flight weekly, right now.
