DFW Go Spotting Day

Hello gents,

I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in a day devoted to spotting at DFW (at some location) and meet new spotters and photographers.
What are your guys thoughts?

That's a good idea... I would suggest early on a weekend morning... before it gets too hot and ruins the shots!

I was thinking of a spotter meet when the new Founders opens up, but since that may take a while maybe having one now isn't a bad idea. Early on weekends sounds good to me.

Ok guys, I guess its a go ahead. Lets now decide which location to meet at. Any suggestions? Last time I was at the Cargo facilities watching North arrivals I was rudely kicked out by the airport security. But I guess the odds would probably be in our favor that they would land South the day we are out spotting.

Temporary Founders would seem to be the best spot (*shock*) unless those of us with airside badges could somehow escort those without and not subsequently be forced to continue the meet in jail (you can't see crap from there). I suggest setting a provisional date, weather permitting, and notifying site members via mass e-mail if possible. DFW Spotter, it's your thread so I'll let you throw out the first date & time.

I also agree that FP would be the best location. The AA hangars would be nice, but I think the security would probably find it some what suspicious, and the haze would be bad. If they are for any chance landing to the North, I guess we could try the cemetery on West airfield drive (near 27th street).
As we were discussing, a morning would probably work out best due to the haziness of the Texas sky.
We need to scedual it so that we can see some interesting aircraft and not all AA Stupid 80's and such. Korean comes in around 9ish or so and a couple of Cargos come in the early hours also. I personaly can't give an exact date due to my working hours, but I am thinking a Friday, Saturday or Sunday in early to mid July? I know that member jmorgan on here was also going to give some feedback on times.
Please some more feedback.

Anyways, if a couple of you guys just want to get together and go spotting sometime, let me know. I usually go on the weekends or Friday's due to my work hours. I'm probably going this weekend.
